The AE performs a hybrid role as pre-sales engineer, cost estimator, and quote content creator. Propose the best equipment to meet the customer's needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include: Learn our Food Processing equipment and its technical benefits, then recommend equipment for specific applications based on customer specifications. Perform equipment sizing calculations with an understanding of heat and mass balance. Use SAP data, design reviews, and statistical analysis to create cost estimates for custom-engineered equipment. Generate quotes and conduct sales presentations. Utilize Microsoft Dynamics CRM or equivalent tool to organize and prioritize workload. Utilize AutoCAD (2D) and Inventor (3D) to generate pre-sale Conceptual Layout Drawings (CLD). Occasional travel to customer facilities for meetings and to take site measurements. Required Education and Experience:
B.S. in engineering (mechanical or chemical preferred), related technical field, or equivalent experience with food equipment Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating or sales engineering. Strong fundamentals in heat transfer, mass transfer and thermodynamics. CAD experience with both 2D and 3D layouts required. Understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs). Mechanical aptitude or experience to understand manufacturing methods and predict costs. Experience in food processing equipment or industrial equipment manufacturing is a plus Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Experience with SAP, CRM, and Oracle CPQ is a plus. Experience with cloud storage/file sharing systems (Box, SharePoint, OneDrive) is a plus.
