Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist for our New York City, New York location. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. Your duties will include conducting regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, and maintaining accurate inventory records within our Warehouse Management System (WMS). You will play a key part in optimizing stock levels, minimizing shrinkage, and ensuring that our logistics operations run smoothly. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will work closely with warehouse staff to ensure proper receiving, put-away, and picking processes are followed, all of which impact inventory accuracy. A strong understanding of inventory control techniques and best practices is essential. You will also be responsible for enforcing safety procedures related to inventory handling and storage, ensuring compliance with regulations and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role may involve some physical tasks, including occasional Lifting. Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between system records and physical inventory.
  • Maintain accurate inventory data in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Monitor inventory levels and report on stock status, obsolescence, and potential shortages.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to minimize loss and damage.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory within the warehouse.
  • Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Assist in the investigation of damaged or lost inventory.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and ensure proper use of PPE during inventory tasks.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new inventory control strategies.
  • Prepare reports on inventory accuracy, stock levels, and other relevant metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and industry regulations.
  • Assist with training warehouse staff on inventory-related procedures.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role within a warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of inventory control techniques and best practices.
  • Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Ability to perform moderate Lifting and work with inventory across different warehouse zones.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
