We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our state-of-the-art distribution center in Nashville, Tennessee. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the accuracy of our warehouse inventory. This includes conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, implementing inventory control procedures, and optimizing stock levels. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will be vital in ensuring the integrity of our inventory data, which directly impacts our logistics operations and customer fulfillment. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong understanding of warehouse management systems. A commitment to safety, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is essential. Your work will directly support the efficiency and profitability of our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies between system data and physical stock.
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, optimize stock levels, and reduce shrinkage.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Collaborate with receiving, picking, and shipping departments to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Identify and report on slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
- Develop and implement strategies for improving inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure all storage locations are organized and clearly labeled.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is a plus. Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role within a warehouse environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in WMS software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally. Must be able to stand, walk, and work in a warehouse environment for extended periods. A strong commitment to safety and the correct use of PPE is mandatory. Good organizational and time management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding of logistics best practices.
