We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is essential for the efficient movement and management of materials within our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to load, unload, transport, and store materials safely and effectively. This is an excellent opportunity for a certified and safety-conscious individual to contribute to our robust logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move materials around the warehouse.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and other vehicles.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items to and from designated storage areas.
- Perform routine inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance or damage issues.
- Safely stack and arrange materials in designated locations.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock placement.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper PPE usage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent hazards.
- Support shipping and receiving operations as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a safe work environment.
- Follow all directives from supervisors and management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- At least 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse logistics and material handling techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and best practices.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to wearing PPE at all times.
