We are looking for a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Shipping Clerk plays a key role in our logistics operations, ensuring that all outbound shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and verifying that outgoing orders are correct and well-packaged. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare bills of lading, shipping orders, and other shipping documentation.
- Verify the contents of outgoing shipments against customer orders.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pick-ups and track shipments.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage and ensure proper labeling.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and files.
- Communicate with internal departments to resolve shipping discrepancies.
- Operate shipping software and equipment.
- Assist with receiving duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency in shipping software and basic computer skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and best practices.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety protocols and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
