Our Virginia Beach, Virginia distribution center is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our dedicated team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will be instrumental in managing inventory flow and ensuring materials are ready for shipment or processing. The ideal candidate possesses a strong safety record, excellent maneuvering skills, and a commitment to maintaining a productive warehouse environment. This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your expertise in a leading logistics operation.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move pallets of goods within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Accurately stack and store products in designated locations.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock verification.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Follow all safety regulations and guidelines, including the mandatory use of appropriate PPE.
- This role requires regular lifting and the ability to safely handle materials up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to operate various types of forklifts safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Understanding of proper lifting techniques and the importance of PPE.
