Are you an experienced and safety-conscious individual looking for a challenging opportunity? Our dynamic logistics center in Washington, D.C. is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse, playing a critical role in our day-to-day operations. This position requires precision, a strong understanding of safety procedures, and the ability to operate various types of forklifts.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Safely transport goods between different areas of the warehouse.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Load and unload trailers efficiently and accurately.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage areas.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Understand and adhere to all logistics and material handling procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with valid certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated knowledge of forklift operation and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety regulations and using required PPE.
- Familiarity with logistics operations is highly desirable.
