Join our dynamic team as a Shipping & Receiving Associate in Columbus, Ohio! This role is crucial to our logistics operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing shipments. You will be responsible for verifying the accuracy of incoming shipments against purchase orders, inspecting goods for damage, and preparing goods for shipment by proper packaging and labeling. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow within a fast-paced warehouse environment. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming materials and compare packing slips to verify accuracy.
- Inspect all incoming shipments for damage and report any discrepancies.
- Prepare goods for shipment by proper packaging, labeling, and staging.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving and shipping area.
- Follow all safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and carriers.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and logistics.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the warehouse team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping/receiving role preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Proficiency in using warehouse equipment, including forklifts (certification is a plus).
- Strong understanding of logistics and inventory control principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
