We are seeking a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our logistics operations in Nashville, Tennessee. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of all outgoing shipments, ensuring that products reach our customers on time and in excellent condition. Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation.
- Verify outgoing orders against customer requirements and packing lists.
- Select appropriate shipping carriers and services based on order needs and cost-effectiveness.
- Operate shipping software and equipment, such as scales and printers.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for shipment pickups and deliveries.
- Conduct quality control checks on packaged items to ensure they meet shipping standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as cycle counts, as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company safety policies.
- Properly use required PPE, including safety glasses and gloves, during all handling activities.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners regarding shipment status.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a shipping or logistics role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including shipping software.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical capacity for tasks involving lifting up to 50 lbs and prolonged standing.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety protocols and the correct use of PPE.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual attendance record.
Working Conditions:
This position is based in an active warehouse environment. You will be required to wear specific PPE, including safety shoes. The role involves regular physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
