We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our logistics team in Nashville, Tennessee. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials within our distribution center. Safety and efficiency are paramount in this role. You will play a key role in maintaining smooth warehouse operations and ensuring the integrity of our inventory. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to adhering to all safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move pallets, raw materials, and finished goods.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Stack and retrieve inventory from various warehouse locations.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment to ensure it is in safe working order.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to management immediately.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as needed, including cycle counts and stock checks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, free from hazards.
- Collaborate with other warehouse personnel to ensure efficient workflow and logistics.
- Accurately document movement of goods using warehouse systems.
- Participate in safety training and contribute to a culture of safety excellence.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and operating machinery for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be reliable and able to work flexible hours if required.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Familiarity with different types of industrial PPE is essential.
Working Conditions:
This role is based in a busy, active warehouse environment. You will be operating heavy machinery and will be required to wear specific PPE, including steel-toed boots and high-visibility vests. The job involves frequent lifting and movement of materials.
