Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for maintaining precise inventory records, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing best practices for inventory management. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of warehouse operations, and a commitment to upholding safety standards. You will work closely with receiving, shipping, and other warehouse personnel to resolve stock issues and prevent stockouts or overstock situations. Your efforts will directly impact operational efficiency and customer satisfaction by ensuring product availability. Experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Monitor stock levels and generate reports on inventory status, aging, and turnover.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory within the warehouse.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to manage receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping processes to minimize errors.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on safety regulations and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in the training of new warehouse associates on inventory control procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in inventory management.
  • Responsible for heavy lifting duties as required, up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in inventory control or a similar warehouse role.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects.
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain operations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
