Join our dynamic team in Virginia Beach, Virginia, as a Shipping Clerk! We are looking for detail-oriented individuals to manage and execute the outbound shipping process efficiently. Your responsibilities will include preparing documentation, packaging orders, and coordinating with carriers to ensure timely delivery. This role is a key component of our Logistics chain, directly impacting customer satisfaction. We emphasize a safe and organized work environment where every team member's contribution is valued.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare all necessary shipping documentation (e.g., bills of lading, manifests, customs forms).
- Verify outgoing shipments against sales orders and ensure order accuracy.
- Select appropriate packaging materials to ensure product integrity during transit.
- Apply correct labels and tracking information to all packages.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Operate material handling equipment to move goods within the shipping area.
- Maintain organized shipping records and update the tracking system.
- Ensure the shipping department is clean, orderly, and adheres to all Safety regulations.
- Consistent use of required PPE is mandatory for all tasks.
- Communicate professionally with internal teams and external partners.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a shipping, receiving, or logistics role is highly desirable.
- Computer proficiency, including experience with shipping software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Must be able to handle moderate physical demands, including occasional Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of shipping procedures and Logistics best practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Dedication to maintaining a Safety -conscious workplace.
