We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead our team in Des Moines, Iowa. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and the highest standards of safety. The Supervisor will manage a team of warehouse associates, providing guidance, training, and motivation to achieve operational goals. Key responsibilities include coordinating the receiving, warehousing, and distribution of goods, optimizing space utilization, and implementing process improvements. You will be instrumental in enforcing safety regulations, ensuring all team members adhere to procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe Lifting practices. Experience in inventory management, a strong understanding of logistics, and excellent problem-solving skills are essential. This role requires a proactive approach to leadership and a commitment to fostering a positive and productive work environment. Your leadership will directly impact the success of our logistics hub.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff.
- Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and shipping.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, including PPE requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure accuracy.
- Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization.
- Train and mentor warehouse associates.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve operational issues.
- Promote safe Lifting techniques and ergonomic practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems and logistics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to enforce safety protocols and manage a team effectively.
- Experience with inventory control and optimization.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in problem-solving and decision-making.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
