Join our energetic team as a Material Handler in Chicago, Illinois! We are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic to manage the movement of materials within our warehouse. Your primary responsibilities will include loading and unloading trucks, operating forklifts and other equipment, and ensuring materials are staged for production or shipment. This role is vital to the efficiency of our Logistics operations and requires physical capability and a commitment to workplace Safety. You will be essential in keeping our operations running smoothly by ensuring timely and safe movement of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Move materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Stage materials for production lines or outgoing shipments.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and Safety.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all Safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to Logistics and material handling.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical activity, including frequent Lifting of up to 60 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety best practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with Logistics and supply chain operations is a plus.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE.
