We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Forklift Operator at our busy distribution center in New York City, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and store materials within the warehouse. You will play a vital part in ensuring the efficient flow of goods and supporting all warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, and order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have proven forklift experience, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced urban logistics environment. Safety is our top priority, and adherence to all protocols is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move pallets and materials.
- Load and unload trucks and containers efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Assist with order picking, stocking, and staging of goods.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety standards.
- Follow all logistics procedures and inventory control practices.
- Wear required PPE at all times and follow all safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent knowledge of safety procedures and best practices, especially concerning forklift operation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must consistently wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety rules.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts as needed.
