We are looking for a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is vital to our supply chain, ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately received, inspected, and processed. You will be responsible for verifying deliveries against purchase orders, documenting any discrepancies, and preparing items for storage or distribution. The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient warehouse environment. Understanding of logistics processes and proper handling of materials is important. We provide necessary PPE and expect strict adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify the quantity and quality of goods against purchase orders and invoices.
- Inspect received items for any damage or defects.
- Document all receiving activities, including discrepancies, in the inventory system.
- Prepare goods for put-away or further processing.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments regarding shipments.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Support the overall logistics and inventory management functions of the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Ability to perform lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software is a plus.
- Understanding of basic logistics and supply chain operations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE.
