We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our dynamic team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This role is crucial to our daily operations, ensuring the efficient movement of goods in and out of our warehouse. You will be responsible for accurately processing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring the overall organization and cleanliness of the shipping and receiving areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to workplace safety. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing logistics company.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming inventory for damages and discrepancies.
- Verify the accuracy of shipping documents and compare them with received goods.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and staging.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using our Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Ensure all areas are kept clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially regarding safety and PPE.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Commitment to safety and the proper use of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills.
