Our facility in Sacramento, California, is seeking a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain the accuracy of our warehouse inventory. This role is critical for ensuring that our stock levels are precise, minimizing discrepancies, and supporting efficient logistics operations. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for implementing and refining inventory management procedures, conducting audits, and utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS) to track product movement. Attention to detail, analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy are paramount. You will contribute significantly to reducing stockouts, preventing overstock situations, and improving overall warehouse efficiency. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a dedication to maintaining the integrity of our inventory data within the broader logistics framework.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records within the WMS.
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
- Track the movement of goods within the warehouse, from receipt to shipment.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement.
- Manage stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) to minimize spoilage or obsolescence.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to optimize space and prevent damage.
- Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and operational teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including proper handling of materials and the use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Familiarity with inventory control techniques and best practices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of safety procedures in a warehouse setting.
