We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Picker/Packer to join our dynamic logistics team in Huntsville, Alabama. As a Picker/Packer, you will be responsible for accurately retrieving items from warehouse shelves and preparing them for shipment. This role is crucial to our supply chain operations, ensuring that our customers receive their orders correctly and on time. You will work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing various scanning devices and warehouse equipment to fulfill orders efficiently. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential for success in this position. Your role directly impacts customer satisfaction and the overall efficiency of our warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from designated warehouse locations using order sheets or scanning equipment.
- Pack items securely and efficiently into appropriate shipping containers, ensuring product protection.
- Verify product quantities and item numbers against order documentation to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe and efficient environment.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment as required.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding order status and any discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or picking/packing role is preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Basic reading and math skills for order fulfillment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to guidelines.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
