Become a vital part of our logistics network as a Receiving Clerk at our facility in Washington, D.C. We need a diligent individual to manage the inbound flow of goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency from the moment products arrive. This role is critical for maintaining the foundation of our inventory management system and overall supply chain operations. You will be responsible for unloading incoming shipments, verifying quantities against purchase orders, inspecting goods for damage, and accurately documenting all received items. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety are essential. This position requires physical stamina, including regular lifting, and the consistent use of PPE to ensure a secure working environment. - Unload incoming freight from trucks.
- Verify packing slips against purchase orders.
- Inspect received goods for damage or discrepancies.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory system.
- Tag and stage goods for put-away.
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and orderly receiving area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines.
- Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment as needed.
Previous experience in a warehouse receiving role is highly desirable. Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be physically capable of frequent lifting and moving of heavy items. Excellent communication skills. Commitment to workplace safety and the mandatory use of PPE are non-negotiable.
