We are hiring a motivated Material Handler for our facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is fundamental to the smooth operation of our warehouse and logistics processes. The Material Handler will be responsible for receiving, moving, organizing, and dispatching materials within the warehouse. You will operate various material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies, to transport goods efficiently and safely. This position requires physical strength, agility, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. Attention to detail is crucial for ensuring materials are correctly identified, stored, and moved to their designated locations. The Material Handler will also assist with inventory counts and maintaining a clean and organized work area. We expect all employees to strictly follow safety guidelines, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to minimize the risk of accidents. This role offers a great opportunity to be part of a dedicated team in a challenging and rewarding logistics environment. The ability to perform manual tasks, including consistent lifting of items up to a specified weight, is a core function of this job. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Move materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Assist with inventory management and stock checks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times.
- Inspect equipment for damage or defects and report issues.
- Perform general warehouse duties as assigned.
- Ensure materials are properly staged for shipping or production.
- Handle tasks involving lifting and carrying materials according to safety standards.
