We are hiring a proactive Shipping & Receiving Associate for our busy San Jose, California warehouse. This position is key to our logistics operations, involving the efficient and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing shipments. You will be responsible for receiving goods, verifying shipments, preparing items for dispatch, and maintaining organized shipping and receiving areas. If you are organized, reliable, and possess excellent attention to detail, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect for damages.
- Accurately record received goods into the inventory management system.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including order picking, packing, and labeling.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety.
- Maintain organized and clean shipping and receiving areas to facilitate smooth logistics.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with cycle counting.
- Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding shipment status and any issues.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed to support overall operations.
- Handle moderate Lifting of packages and materials.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving, or general warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in using scanning equipment and basic computer applications.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely (certification is a plus).
- Experience with manual Lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory control.
- Commitment to workplace safety and correct PPE usage.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
