Job Title: Roofing Sales Consultant The Opportunity Black Rock Roofing is looking for a high-performing "Hybrid" Sales Professional to join our team in one of the most active roofing markets in the country. This role is designed for a self-starter who can both Hunt (bring in new commercial projects and residential storm leads) and Farm (maximize existing accounts and referrals). In Houston, success isn't just about the next storm; it's about becoming a trusted advisor for homeowners, property managers, and REITs. If you are a closer who wants high commission splits without a "corporate ceiling," this is your role. Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor Primary Responsibilities
* The Hunt (Lead Generation): Proactively identify new business through a mix of high-energy "boots-on-the-ground" prospecting. This includes neighborhood canvassing/door-knocking in storm-impacted areas and strategic networking in industrial parks (e.g., North Houston, Pasadena, and the Energy Corridor). * Inspections & Documentation: Perform professional site inspections on both flat/TPO commercial roofs and shingle residential roofs. Document findings (hail/wind damage or mechanical wear) with photos to present to the decision-maker. * The Farm (Account Management): Manage and grow a portfolio of existing clients. Conduct annual "wellness checks" on commercial roofs to identify preventative maintenance needs and maintain a referral network within residential neighborhoods. * Insurance & Navigation: For residential leads, guide homeowners through the insurance claim process, meeting with adjusters on-site to represent the homeowner's best interests. * The Close: Present detailed proposals. Navigate complex decision-making units—from individual homeowners to Commercial Boards and GCs—to sign contracts on the spot. * Project Handoff: Ensure a "white glove" transition from sales to production, documenting specific site requirements (staging areas, tenant notifications, or landscaping protection) to ensure a high-quality install.
Key Duties
* Maintain a professional appearance and a positive attitude while representing the company in the community. * Participate in "Sales Blasts" in specific zip codes after significant weather events. * Utilize CRM tools to track the sales pipeline from initial contact to final payment. * Represent the company at local trade shows and BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association) events.
Qualifications
* Experience: The right mindset. * The "Hybrid" Mindset: You must be aggressive enough to knock on a door (Hunter) but professional enough to sit in a boardroom with a property manager (Farmer). * Physical Ability: Must be comfortable with heights and able to carry/set up a 28'+ extension ladder. * Communication: Ability to explain technical concepts (ventilation, underlayment, and thermal spacers) in simple terms. This will be trained. * Reliability: Valid Driver's License and a reliable truck/SUV capable of carrying a ladder. * Schedule: Flexibility to work evenings and Saturdays when homeowners/decision -makers are available.
