Our Houston, Texas facility has an opening for a diligent Shipping Clerk. This role is key to our logistics operations, managing the smooth and accurate processing of all outgoing shipments. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that all orders are dispatched correctly and on time. A strong focus on detail and organization is essential for success in this position. Safety is a priority, and all team members are expected to adhere to safety standards and wear appropriate PPE. We are seeking an individual who is proactive, meticulous, and dedicated to maintaining high standards in our shipping department. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading and packing lists.
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Verify the accuracy of items being shipped against order information.
- Ensure all packages are correctly labeled and prepared for transit according to carrier guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all outgoing shipments.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding shipment status and potential issues.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and wear required PPE.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks as needed.
- Resolve any shipping-related discrepancies or problems promptly.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our logistics flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a similar administrative role is preferred.
- Proficiency in relevant shipping software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of shipping regulations and best practices.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
