Our Nashville, Tennessee facility is looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to manage the outbound flow of goods. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. This includes preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and verifying shipment contents. Your contribution is essential to maintaining our logistics pipeline and customer satisfaction. We value safety and precision in all our operations. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to timely processing. The ideal candidate will be organized and proficient in handling various shipping software and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipping documentation (bills of lading, packing lists, customs forms).
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Verify accuracy of items being shipped against order details.
- Ensure all shipments are properly labeled and packaged according to carrier and company standards.
- Maintain organized records of all shipments.
- Communicate with internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and use appropriate PPE.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of shipments as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any shipping-related issues.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role preferred.
- Proficiency in shipping software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with various shipping carriers and their requirements.
- Commitment to upholding safety standards.
