My client is looking for an ambitious Assistant Branch Manager to play a key role in the success of their busy, fast-paced branch. This is more than a support role — it’s an opportunity to lead from the front, grow sales, inspire a team, and help shape the future performance of the branch. What You’ll Be Doing As Assistant Branch Manager, you’ll be right at the heart of the operation: • Supporting the Branch Manager in the day-to-day running of a busy, customer-focused branch. • Taking the lead in driving sales growth — spotting opportunities, building relationships, and converting enquiries into revenue. • Delivering outstanding service to trade and retail customers alike. • Coaching, motivating, and developing the team to hit and exceed targets. • Overseeing stock control, purchasing, merchandising, and supplier relationships to maximise availability and margin. • Stepping up to manage the branch confidently in the Branch Manager’s absence. • Promoting a safe, compliant, and well-organised working environment. This is a hands-on role where your energy, commercial awareness, and leadership skills will directly influence branch performance. What We’re Looking For • Solid experience within the builders’ merchant or construction supplies sector. • A strong sales background with a proven record of achieving and exceeding targets. • A proactive, lead-from-the-front management style. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust quickly. • Strong organisational skills and a results-driven mindset. • Confidence in developing strong relationships with trade customers and colleagues. • A positive attitude and the ambition to take ownership and progress your career.
