We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our Nashville, Tennessee facility! This role is crucial for the efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to load, unload, move, stack, and unstack materials. Your duties will include transporting goods from receiving areas to storage, and from storage to shipping docks, ensuring materials are handled with care and accuracy. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment is paramount. You will conduct daily pre-operation inspections of your forklift and report any maintenance issues immediately. Strict adherence to all safety regulations, including traffic rules within the warehouse and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. Experience with various types of forklifts and a valid forklift operator certification are required. This position involves regular physical activity, including occasional Lifting and maneuvering. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Move products from receiving to storage and from storage to shipping areas.
- Stack and unstack materials to designated storage locations.
- Conduct daily pre-operation checks of forklifts and report any defects.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, traffic rules, and company policies.
- Ensure proper use of PPE at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock put-away as needed.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents immediately to management.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow.
- Follow all instructions from supervisors regarding material handling.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements as required.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including moderate Lifting and bending.
- Strong understanding of forklift safety procedures and regulations.
- Familiarity with various types of forklifts.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to follow all safety guidelines and PPE requirements.
