We are looking for a diligent and organized Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is fundamental to the smooth operation of our warehouse, ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately received, inspected, and processed. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, verifying quantities, checking for damages, and entering data into our inventory system. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy are essential. We maintain a strong focus on workplace Safety, and all employees are expected to adhere to established protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a vital part of our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify the contents of each shipment against purchase orders and packing slips, noting any discrepancies or damages.
- Inspect goods for quality and damage, reporting any issues to supervisors immediately.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS) or other designated tracking systems.
- Tag and label incoming products as required.
- Stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned, contributing to overall logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, receiving, or data entry role is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and occasional Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety procedures.
