We are seeking a skilled and experienced Material Handler for our Baltimore, Maryland facility. This role is essential for the efficient movement and management of materials within our warehouse and logistics operations. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for operating various types of equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your diligence in maintaining an organized inventory and ensuring the safe handling of goods is paramount. We are dedicated to fostering a culture of Safety, and expect all employees to strictly follow established protocols, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position offers a chance to utilize your skills in a dynamic operational setting.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to transport materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and containers, verifying shipments against documentation.
- Store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper organization and space utilization.
- Pick and stage materials for production or shipment as required.
- Conduct regular inspections of material handling equipment and report any maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Participate in inventory control activities, including cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment, adhering to all housekeeping standards.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with shipping and receiving duties as needed.
- Support overall logistics operations by ensuring timely and accurate movement of materials.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler, Forklift Operator, or in a similar warehouse role is mandatory.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Capability to lift and move objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control principles.
- Excellent knowledge of Safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a high level of Safety and operational excellence.
