Join our team as a Warehouse Worker in Des Moines, Iowa, and contribute to the smooth operation of our busy distribution center. This role is vital to our logistics network, involving a variety of tasks to ensure efficient handling of goods. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, picking, and shipping products. Your dedication to safety is crucial, and you will be provided with training on all required procedures and equipment. We expect all employees to wear and use their assigned PPE correctly.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies.
- Store products in designated areas, utilizing warehouse space effectively.
- Pick and pack orders accurately according to customer requirements.
- Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring proper packaging and labeling.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and efficiently.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and participate in cycle counting.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed, such as organizing stock or managing returns.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and stooping for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 60 pounds, on a regular basis.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Must be committed to upholding high standards of Safety in all aspects of the job.
- Willingness to undergo training for new equipment and procedures.
