Join our logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa, as an Order Picker! This position is vital for our distribution center, focusing on the accurate and efficient retrieval of products to fulfill customer orders. You will utilize scanning technology to locate and pick items, ensuring the right products are selected for our customers. This role demands accuracy, speed, and a strong work ethic. Physical stamina is required as you navigate the warehouse. Maintaining a safe working environment through strict adherence to all safety protocols and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is a top priority for us. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves according to order specifications and pick lists.
- Verify product numbers and quantities using RF scanners to ensure accuracy.
- Stage picked items for packing and shipping processes.
- Operate pallet jacks and other relevant warehouse equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Report any inventory discrepancies or product damages immediately.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and procedures.
- Wear and use all required PPE consistently and correctly.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and stock putaway duties.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily operational targets.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in a warehouse or order picking role is beneficial. Ability to read and understand pick tickets and product labels. Familiarity with RF scanning systems is preferred. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. The physical capability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods is required. A strong commitment to safety and the proper use of PPE is essential. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and teamwork skills. Basic knowledge of logistics operations is a plus.
