Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our sophisticated logistics center in Detroit, Michigan. This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of inventory management, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of our stock. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a proven ability to implement and maintain effective inventory control systems. You will be responsible for conducting audits, investigating discrepancies, and contributing to process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and reduce losses. Your expertise is vital to our supply chain's success.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventories to ensure data accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies promptly and thoroughly.
  • Maintain and update inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Analyze inventory levels, identify trends, and recommend adjustments to optimize stock.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor warehouse organization to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of goods.
  • Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for inventory errors and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and generate regular inventory reports for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
  • Train and mentor other staff members on inventory control procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
  • Proficiency with WMS software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Demonstrated understanding of warehouse logistics and safety protocols, including PPE usage.
  • Leadership potential and experience training others is a plus.
