Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipments, including generating labels and documentation.
- Verify the accuracy of items being shipped against orders.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Inspect packages to ensure they are properly sealed and protected for transit.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the shipping log.
- Ensure that the shipping area is organized, clean, and safe.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, particularly those related to safety and the mandated use of PPE .
- Operate shipping equipment such as scales and scanners.
- Communicate with internal teams and external partners regarding shipping status and any issues.
- Assist with receiving duties as needed.
- Contribute to process improvements within the shipping department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related shipping/receiving role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using computer systems for order processing and tracking.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting of packages up to 30 pounds.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Understanding of logistics principles and shipping best practices.
- A strong focus on workplace safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
