We are searching for an experienced and motivated Warehouse Supervisor to lead our operations in Des Moines, Iowa. As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be instrumental in overseeing daily warehouse activities, managing a team of warehouse associates, and ensuring that all logistics operations are conducted efficiently and safely. This role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of warehouse management principles. You will be responsible for training new hires, setting performance goals, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring compliance with all company policies and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Experience with various warehouse systems and a proven track record in team leadership are essential. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct the daily activities of warehouse staff, including assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
- Ensure efficient and timely processing of inbound and outbound shipments.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through regular audits and system updates.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures, ensuring compliance with all OSHA regulations and the proper use of PPE.
- Manage staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Optimize warehouse layout and workflow to maximize efficiency and space utilization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues promptly.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Ensure adherence to all lifting safety guidelines and promote safe material handling practices.
- Contribute to the overall logistics strategy and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a warehouse supervisory role.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and relevant software.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA standards and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to effectively manage lifting requirements and ensure safe material handling.
