Job Summary:
Our Grand Rapids, Michigan facility is looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will conduct regular audits, investigate discrepancies, and implement procedures to minimize stockouts and overages. A strong analytical mindset and a commitment to detail are essential for success. This position is critical to our logistics operations, ensuring that our inventory data is precise and reliable for planning and fulfillment.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to verify stock levels.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy.
  • Process inventory adjustments and transfers in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Monitor stock levels and report on inventory status, including potential shortages or excess.
  • Work closely with receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping departments to resolve inventory issues.
  • Ensure proper organization and labeling of inventory within the warehouse.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and using required PPE.
  • While this role is largely analytical, occasional light lifting may be required for stock verification.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, warehousing, or logistics.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Understanding of logistics best practices.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE.
