We are looking for a skilled Reach Truck Operator to join our team in Washington, D.C. As a Reach Truck Operator, you will be responsible for operating specialized equipment to move and store products at high elevations within our state-of-the-art distribution center. This role is crucial for optimizing warehouse space and ensuring the efficient flow of inventory. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a commitment to safety, and experience operating reach trucks in a busy logistics environment. You'll contribute directly to our operational efficiency and the accurate management of our stock.
Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate a reach truck to move, stack, and retrieve products at various heights.
- Perform pre-operation checks on the reach truck and report any defects or maintenance issues.
- Accurately place and retrieve inventory in racking systems.
- Assist with inventory control by ensuring proper placement and identification of goods.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, adhering to all warehouse safety regulations.
- Follow all directives from warehouse management regarding order fulfillment and stock rotation.
- Strict adherence to safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE, is mandatory.
- While operating the reach truck, ensure safe handling of materials and be prepared for occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating a reach truck, with certification preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices in logistics.
- Ability to work at heights and navigate narrow aisles.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems is a plus.
- Commitment to utilizing all required PPE.
