Join our growing logistics team as a Shipping Clerk in Houston, Texas! In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the outgoing flow of products, ensuring that all shipments are accurately prepared, documented, and dispatched on time. You will coordinate with warehouse staff, carriers, and customers to facilitate smooth and efficient shipping operations. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and Safety. - Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other shipping documents accurately.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Verify outgoing orders against shipping manifests to ensure accuracy.
- Communicate with customers regarding shipment status and tracking information.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the inventory management system.
- Inspect packages for damage before shipment.
- Ensure proper packaging and labeling of all outbound shipments.
- Adhere to all company Safety regulations and procedures.
- Use appropriate PPE, especially when handling potentially hazardous materials or operating machinery.
- Assist with occasional Lifting of packages up to 40 pounds.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related administrative role preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and common office applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of warehouse and logistics principles.
- Willingness to wear required PPE and follow Safety guidelines.
- Ability to assist with occasional Lifting as needed.
