Are you meticulous and organized? We are seeking an Inventory Control Specialist for our Detroit, Michigan facility. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing improvements to inventory management processes within our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor inventory levels and report low stock situations to procurement.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Manage returned goods and ensure they are properly processed and restocked.
- Use warehouse management system (WMS) to track inventory movements and status.
- Identify and address root causes of inventory inaccuracies.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of inventory to prevent damage or loss.
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to optimize inventory flow and storage.
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory-related transactions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proficiency with WMS and other inventory management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of PPE requirements for warehouse environments.
- Ability to perform lifting of up to 40 lbs occasionally.
- Good communication skills for reporting and team collaboration.
