We are seeking an enthusiastic Distribution Center Associate to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is integral to the efficient operation of our distribution network, involving a range of responsibilities from receiving and stocking to order fulfillment and shipping. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Sort and stock merchandise in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick and pack customer orders with high accuracy, using RF scanners and other equipment.
- Prepare orders for shipment, including labeling and documentation.
- Load outbound shipments onto trucks, ensuring safe and efficient staging.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely (certification may be required).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including specific protocols for lifting and material handling.
- Wear and correctly use all mandated PPE, such as safety vests, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and collaborative work atmosphere.
- Support various logistics functions as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a distribution center, warehouse, or logistics environment is advantageous.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely and proficiently.
- Physical capability to perform tasks involving frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
- Understanding of warehouse safety standards and the critical importance of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
Working Conditions:
This position is situated in a bustling distribution center environment. Employees are required to wear designated PPE, including safety footwear. The role demands consistent physical exertion, including lifting, carrying, standing, and walking. Our unwavering focus on safety means that all team members must strictly adhere to safety procedures and guidelines within our logistics operations.
