We are looking for a skilled and certified Forklift Operator to join our bustling warehouse in San Jose, California. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. Your primary duties will involve operating forklifts to transport goods within the warehouse, load and unload trucks, and assist with inventory management. This is a physically demanding role that requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. You will be an integral part of our logistics operations, ensuring the smooth flow of products from receiving to shipping. We are committed to providing a safe working environment, and all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe forklift operation and a solid understanding of warehouse safety protocols. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team are essential. Experience with different types of forklifts and warehouse equipment is a plus. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers with inbound and outbound shipments.
- Transport materials from receiving to storage areas, and from storage to shipping docks.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts to ensure they are in safe working order.
- Accurately record movement of inventory and stock as required by warehouse management systems.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Must be able to handle tasks involving moderate to significant lifting.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift certification and experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Proven experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with logistics operations is beneficial.
