We are looking for a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our team in Detroit, Michigan. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our logistics process. Your responsibilities will include unloading shipments, verifying manifests, inspecting for damages, and properly staging items for put-away. This position is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory levels and facilitating smooth warehouse operations. You will play a key role in the inbound side of our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Inspect goods for any damage or discrepancies and report issues immediately.
- Scan and log all received items into the inventory management system.
- Stage received goods in designated areas for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain accurate receiving records.
- Adhere to all company Safety protocols and guidelines, including the mandatory use of appropriate PPE .
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely as needed (certification may be required).
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized receiving dock.
- Support overall warehouse Logistics by ensuring timely and accurate receiving of inventory.
Qualifications:
Prior experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse role. Familiarity with inventory management systems and RF scanners. Ability to perform physical tasks, including Lifting up to 50 lbs. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Commitment to upholding high standards of workplace Safety . Must be able to wear required PPE , such as safety shoes and vests. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
