The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for accurately processing, preparing, and dispatching all outgoing orders. This role is critical to ensuring that our customers receive their products on time and in perfect condition. You will work closely with the warehouse team, carriers, and management to streamline shipping processes. Key duties include verifying shipment details, generating shipping labels, scheduling pickups, and maintaining shipping records. Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare all outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify shipping information against order details to prevent errors.
- Generate shipping labels and necessary documentation for various carriers.
- Schedule pickups with freight carriers and ensure timely departures.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties as needed.
- Maintain accurate shipping logs and records for inventory control and auditing.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure smooth flow of goods to the shipping dock.
- Inspect packages for proper sealing and labeling before dispatch.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and utilize appropriate PPE when handling materials.
- Communicate effectively with team members and external partners regarding shipping status.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Understanding of shipping regulations and best practices.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment: This role is primarily based in a busy warehouse setting. Exposure to varying temperatures and the need for constant movement are part of the environment. Safety is our top priority, and all employees are required to follow safety guidelines and wear provided PPE.
