We have an exciting opportunity for a Material Handler at our busy logistics center in San Diego, California. As a Material Handler, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods throughout our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming materials, as well as picking and staging items for outgoing shipments. You will operate various pieces of material handling equipment, maintain inventory accuracy, and contribute to a safe and organized work environment. This position requires physical dexterity, a keen eye for detail, and a strong adherence to safety protocols. We expect all team members to follow company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Store materials in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper organization and stock rotation.
- Pick and stage materials for outgoing orders and shipments.
- Update inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Perform regular equipment checks and report any issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as safety vests and gloves.
- Participate in inventory counts and audits.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is a significant advantage.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 60 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Commitment to following all safety guidelines and wearing PPE.
