We are seeking experienced and certified Forklift Operators to join our busy distribution center in Chicago, Illinois. This role is critical for the safe and efficient movement of goods throughout our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to load and unload trucks, move inventory to and from storage locations, and assist with order fulfillment. Safety is paramount in this position, and you will be expected to adhere strictly to all operating procedures and company policies. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Move and stack products in designated warehouse locations.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock placement.
- Conduct daily pre-operation checks on forklift equipment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE and forklift operating procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Support other warehouse operations as needed to ensure smooth logistics flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and logistics operations is a plus.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours.
This position requires the ability to safely operate heavy machinery and perform manual tasks, including lifting. Adherence to all safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of PPE, is essential.
