We are hiring experienced Forklift Operators for our busy logistics facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is critical to our daily operations, supporting receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping processes. We require individuals with a strong commitment to safety, excellent operating skills, and the ability to work productively in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. Your skill and diligence will directly contribute to the smooth functioning of our supply chain and timely fulfillment of orders.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks, etc.) safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers, ensuring securement and proper weight distribution.
- Transport goods between receiving, storage, and shipping areas.
- Perform accurate put-away of received inventory and retrieval for order picking.
- Conduct daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, keeping aisles clear and accessible.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Collaborate with other warehouse associates and supervisors to meet operational targets.
- Follow all logistics and material handling guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven ability to operate various types of forklifts safely and effectively.
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations and logistics procedures.
- Ability to perform lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices for forklift operation.
- Good hand-eye coordination, balance, and spatial reasoning.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment.
- Commitment to safety and the correct use of PPE.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
