Join our thriving warehouse team in Des Moines, Iowa, as a Material Handler! We are looking for dependable and physically capable individuals to manage the flow of goods within our facility. This role is critical for the efficient operation of our logistics and supply chain processes, ensuring that materials are moved, organized, and prepared for their next destination. Your primary duties will involve operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery, to load and unload trucks, move inventory, and support put-away and picking operations. You will be responsible for handling a variety of goods, which will require regular lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items weighing up to 50 lbs. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, and you must adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety shoes and vests, at all times. Attention to detail is important for ensuring accurate placement and handling of materials. Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting, with proven ability to operate material handling equipment, is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away and stock rotation.
- Ensure materials are handled carefully to prevent damage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Perform routine checks on equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Support shipping and receiving departments as required.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the logistics team.
