We are seeking experienced Forklift Operators for our busy distribution center in Chicago, Illinois. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. This role is vital to our logistics operations, ensuring the smooth flow of materials and timely processing of shipments. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to transport materials, goods, and equipment within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trailers and containers efficiently and safely.
- Stack and organize inventory in designated areas, ensuring proper placement and stability.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Assist with inventory counts and help maintain inventory accuracy.
- Follow all warehouse safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Work collaboratively with other warehouse personnel to meet operational goals.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to logistics and warehouse management.
- Operate equipment safely and responsibly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- At least 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse safety practices and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to perform physical tasks as required, including Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Knowledge of general logistics operations.
