We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in St. Louis, Missouri. This role is crucial for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and compliantly. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, verifying order contents, and maintaining shipping records. A strong focus on organization, accuracy, and adherence to Safety procedures is essential for success. You will be a key link in our supply chain, contributing to our reputation for timely deliveries. We provide all necessary PPE to ensure your safety. While this role is primarily administrative, it may involve some moderate Lifting and requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation for outgoing shipments.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, LTL) to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing orders, ensuring correct items and quantities are shipped.
- Inspect outgoing packages for proper packaging and damage.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update tracking information in the system.
- Communicate with internal departments (e.g., sales, warehouse) regarding shipment status.
- Follow all company Safety guidelines and procedures, ensuring a secure shipping area.
- Wear and properly use all required PPE , such as safety glasses and gloves when handling packages.
- Assist with inventory management and other warehouse duties as needed.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and common carrier platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping orders and manifests.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
- Capacity for occasional light to moderate Lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Understanding of shipping regulations and best practices.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to workplace Safety .
