We are actively recruiting a skilled Forklift Operator for our Grand Rapids, Michigan facility. This role is essential for the efficient movement of goods throughout our warehouse and distribution center. The Forklift Operator will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory, and ensuring that materials are staged correctly for outgoing shipments. A strong emphasis is placed on operating equipment safely and maintaining adherence to all Safety protocols. Your contribution is vital to our logistics operations. We supply all necessary PPE , and a safe working environment is our top priority. This position requires significant Lifting and the ability to maneuver safely in a busy warehouse setting.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing freight safely and efficiently.
- Inspect forklift equipment daily and report any issues or needed repairs.
- Organize and arrange materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as directed.
- Follow all warehouse Safety procedures and guidelines, including traffic control within the facility.
- Properly wear and maintain all required PPE , including hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve operational goals in our logistics department.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse operations and material handling techniques.
- Ability to perform regular physical tasks, including substantial Lifting of items weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and warehouse Safety practices.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable attendance and a strong commitment to safety.
- Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
