Join our team as an Inventory Control Specialist in Baltimore, Maryland, and play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our warehouse operations. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing inventory control procedures, conducting cycle counts, performing audits, and resolving discrepancies. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical abilities, and a solid understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics. You will work collaboratively with warehouse staff, operations managers, and other departments to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize stock damage or loss. Safety is our top priority; adherence to all safety regulations, including the mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is crucial. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to work independently in a demanding environment. Your contributions will directly impact the overall effectiveness and profitability of our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure data accuracy.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and optimize stock levels.
- Oversee the proper storage and rotation of inventory (FIFO/LIFO) to minimize waste.
- Ensure accurate recording of all inventory movements within the WMS.
- Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to resolve inventory-related issues.
- Assist in managing returns and defective merchandise processing.
- Generate reports on inventory accuracy, stock levels, and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines and proper use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related logistics field.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical inventory tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
